3. If your vehicle comes with FACTORY CD BASED ON NAVI SYSTEM, then your vehicle has digital amplifier as well. You need the extension cable to bypass the factory amplifier. This cable is plug and play, it will connect this head unit to the plug of the factory amplifier in the right of the trunk(above the CD changer), you will be able to use our unit's built-in amplifier to drive the FOUR car speakers. Touareg 2003-2006 year with CD based on navigation system also comes with digital amplifier. Once you want to install an aftermarket or VW OEM navigation(RNS510), they will not work with the factory digital amplifier, then you need to use this extension cable to bypass the factory amplifier.

This cable is plug and play, no need to cut wires or solder when install. One end will be connected to the new head unit you want to use and another end will be connected to the car speakers plug in the trunk. You can remove this cable and put the original CD Navigation back at any time, it will not damage your car, it is TOTALLY PLUG AND PLAY.
